The major advantage of recent years is the high scientific levels of the most significant new developments in techniques and pharmacotherapy and other nonsurgical approaches like Laser resurfacing, Sclerotherapy, Soft tissue augmentation. With an aging population and increasing consumer awareness, demand for high-quality, innovative cosmeceuticals products will be on the rise in 2014. In fact, Global Information, an information service company that partners with research firms worldwide, recently released statistics that stated that the global cosmeceuticals market should reach $31.84 billion by 2016. According to another report released by Medical Insight, the total retail sales of home-use devices and disposables are expected to rise by 11.4 per cent per year to exceed $1.5 billion in 2017.

Track 7: Dermatopathology

Dermatopathology is a joint subspecialty of dermatology and pathology and to a lesser extent of surgical pathology that focuses on the study of cutaneous diseases at a microscopic and molecular level. It encompasses analyses of the potential causes of skin diseases at a basic level. Dermatopathologists work in close association with clinical dermatologists. In fact, most of them are trained primarily in dermatology themselves. Dermatologists are able to recognize most skin diseases based on their appearances, anatomic distributions, and behaviour. Sometimes, however, those criteria do not allow a conclusive diagnosis to be made, and skin biopsies is taken to be examined under the microscope or are subject to other molecular tests. That process reveals the histology of the disease and results in a specific diagnostic interpretation. In some cases, additional specialized testing needs to be performed on biopsies, including immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, electron microscopy, flow cytometry, and molecular-pathologic analysis.

Track: 8 Research in Dermatology

As discovery occurs through basic and translational research, Researchers incorporate evidence based knowledge into practice. Research in the Department of Dermatology span a wide range of efforts, ranging from clinical trials to molecular translational medicine to fundamental studies in epithelial biology.

The research in Dermatology reaches many subspecialty areas, and includes collaborations with other departments. Conducting both basic science research, and clinical and translational research and exploring new ways to diagnose disease, design therapies and deliver treatment. Areas of clinical research currently include:

  • Aesthetic Research
  • Ethnic Skin Research
  • Melanoma Research
  • Pediatric Research
  • Wound Research
  • Skin Regeneration Research

Track 9: Technological innovation

Sum of technological innovations in disposable diaper designs and materials has expected reducing Dermatological problems in the diaper region. The introduction of absorbent gelling materials led to a reduction in the skin over hydration and made possible a more beneficial pH in the diaper region. Recombinant DNA (rDNA) molecules are DNA molecules formed by research laboratory procedures of genetic recombination (such as molecular cloning) to bring together genetic material from several sources, creating preparations that would not otherwise be found in the genome. Recombinant DNA is possible because DNA molecules from all organisms share the same chemical structure. They differ only in the nucleotide sequence within that identical overall structure.

Track 10: Dermatologists Meeting 2016

The Dermatologists industry has expanded into cosmetic dermatology, with more dermatologists offering anti-aging procedures such as dermabrasion, laser treatments, Dermoscopy and Botox. These treatments have proven to be a high-growth sector for the industry and have contributed to the industry's consistently high profit margins. Dermatologists tend to locate in urban areas, close to hospitals and education canter’s. There were 9,641 practicing dermatologists in the United States. In the United States, demand for cosmetic surgery products is expected to rise with injectables as the largest and fastest growing segment on the market. The number of people who used a skin doctor (dermatologist) within the last 12 months in the United States (USA) from spring 2008 to spring 2014. In spring 2008, the number of people who used a skin doctor (dermatologist) within a period of 12 months amounted to around 28.93 million.

Importance & Scope:

Disorders of the skin, hair, and nails fall within the remit of a dermatologist. The specialty is divided broadly into medical and surgical fields. Dermatology is chiefly an outpatient specialty, and most patient referrals request an initial diagnosis and treatment of an unknown skin disease or review of more complex and chronic cases beyond the skill of the general practitioner. Many developing countries have no skin care specialists and referral is made difficult by distances and availability of travel funds. For example, South Africa has a ratio of 3 to 4 million people per dermatologist, who are usually located in urban areas. 21-87% of the population may be affected by some type of skin problem. Primary care providers are often unable to diagnose and treat skin disease; the economic burden of skin disease in the United States is large: approximately $35.9 billion.

The field of aesthetic & cosmetic dermatology has gained remarkable interest all over the world. The major advantage of recent years is the high scientific levels of the most significant new developments in techniques and pharmacotherapy and other nonsurgical approaches like Laser resurfacing, Sclerotherapy, Soft tissue augmentation.

The global dermatology markets reached $15.8 billion in 2012. The market is expected to reach $16.1 billion in 2013 and $18.5 billion in 2018 for a CAGR of 2.8%. An overview of the global market for treatments of skin diseases, perhaps the most common of human afflications. In fact, Global Information, an information service company that partners with research firms worldwide, recently released statistics that stated that the global cosmeceuticals market should reach $31.84 billion by 2016.

Why Dubai:

Dubai is the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is located on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf and is one of the seven emirates that make up the country. The city of Dubai is located on the emirate's northern coastline and heads up the Dubai-Sharjah-Ajman metropolitan area. Dubai is to host World Expo 2020. Dubai has emerged as a global city and business hub of the Middle East. One of the world's fastest growing economies, Dubai's gross domestic product is projected at USD 107.1 billion, with a growth rate of 6.1% in 2014.

A City Mayors survey ranked Dubai 44th among the world's best financial cities in 2007, while another report by City Mayors indicated that Dubai was the world's 27th richest city in 2012, in terms of purchasing power parity (PPP). Dubai is also an international financial centre and has been ranked 37th within the top 50 global financial cities as surveyed by the MasterCard Worldwide Centres of Commerce Index (2007), and 1st within the Middle East.

The Dermatologists industry is growing, due in large part to the aging population and the mounting awareness of the dangers of sun exposure. However, the industry is highly competitive. It is dominated by small establishments, and dermatologists are competing with lower-cost providers of similar services, such as medical spas. In response, dermatologists are progressively focusing on subspecialties, such as cosmetic dermatology or dermapathology. Dermatology market growth has averaged 6.7% a year in bn $.
